The University of South Carolina Department of Physics and Astronomy invites applications for a nine-month non-tenure-track Instructor to teach introductory-level physics courses. The expected start date is August 16, 2017. On some occasions, extra compensation for summer teaching is possible, subject to the availability of funds. The position is for one year and may be renewed based on satisfactory performance and continued funding.
This position requires a PhD degree in physics or a closely related discipline. Experience teaching introductory physics courses and/or labs at the university level is preferred. Applicants must have a strong commitment to excellence in undergraduate teaching.
